and any of the tours offered by the local tour operators.
These include The City Tour, The Countryside Tour, The Fiesta
Mexicana Tour, The Isla Grande Tour, The Shopping Tour and
others. In addition, we organize and operate the tours described
below.

For you who need action, Las Gatas Beach Club.com offer special week-long learning packages in Sailing, Surfing, Snorkeling, Big Game Fishing, SCUBA Diving and Spanish at 15% off normal advertised prices of both the activity and lodging throughout the low season months. A minimum of four people with basic swimming proficiency is required in order to qualify. Not recommended for children under nine years old. Please see our list of other activities available.

Las Gatas Beach Club is the ideal
venue for small Seminars, Weddings, Family Reunions etc., with a total capacity of 22. Just
give us your requirements with plenty of notice and we will
do our best to fulfill them for you. Exclusive use of entire
compound with staff
is available to rent at $800 USD per day.
We
started out as a Nature Study Center, and that continues
to be our theme. In the past, we have produced seminars
on Tropical Plants, Medicinal Plants, Holistic Health
and Personal Ecology, SCUBA diving and sailing. If
you are interested in attending a seminar on any of
these topics (or others) and have seven or more participants,
we will be happy to find an appropriate expert to
organize and conduct.
3 DAY SEMINAR - PRACTICING "THE POWER OF NOW"
Eckhart Tolle has written three books that can change your life. They are titled "The Power of Now", "Practicing the Power of Now" and "A New Earth, Awakening to your life's purpose." If you have read the books or are willing to read them, you are invited to attend a three day discussion group October 1, 2 and 3, 2006 to be facilitated by Owen Lee at Las Gatas Beach Club in Zihuatanejo, Mexico. The idea is to learn how to practice the Power of Now in your daily life. There is no charge for the seminar. Only the normal charges for food and lodging. Anyone interested can make reservations through this website. Capacity is limited to twenty.
The
Bay, Reef and Jungle Tour
This
tour includes a boat trip around beautiful Zihuatanejo Bay
with the history, legends and folklore of its four gorgeous
beaches in English, French or Spanish. This is followed
by an overland trek through lush mountain jungle trails
to a charming old lighthouse at the mouth of the bay and
a commentary on the wild flora and fauna that you will see.
Next,we fit you out with masks, snorkels and fins to explore
the underwater marvels of the legendary "King's Reef." Last but not least, we invite you to a delicious buffet
lunch before your return

Surfing

When
the surf 's up at Las Gatas Beach Club some of the world
's best Surfing is within a stones throw of your front door!
When the surf is low, we pack our guests into our combi
and drive them to where "the Big Ones" are. Surfboard
rentals are available in Ixtapa at $25 per day, but we recommend
that you bring your own board if possible. Wet suits are
unnecessary. The best waves for surfing at Las Gatas Beach
Club are August through October, especially at full/nip moon.
Snorkeling

When
the surf is down at Las Gatas Beach Club, the snorkeling
is excellent. The only living coral in the entire bay is
clustered right in front of our restaurant, and the adjoining "King' s Reef" provides over 200 meters of crystalline
waters that are teeming with sea life. Wet suits are not
needed. We rent snorkel gear at $ 4 US per day. A life jacket costs $2 more. Snorkel
Safaris offshore and to outlying beaches are readily available
to guests at $ 100 US per boat which can carry up to 10
snorkelers.
Fishing

Zihuatanejo
is famous for its big game fishing. It plays host to two
International Big Game Fishing tournaments every year and
our associated guide/captains are the best is the business.
Big Game rates vary with the size of the boat and the number
of people aboard. "Panga Boats" are available
for as little as $140 US per day and can carry up to four.
Bigger boats may run up to $300 or $400 per day. Sailfish,
Marlin, Tuna, Dolphin Fish and Roosterfish are the order
of the day. Barracuda and Red Snapper fishing is available
at night.

and Lasers are available to rent through Las Gatas Beach
Club. If you are a beginner and would like to learn how
to sail, we offer a week-long sailing certification course
which includes two days of sailing with an instructor. All
for only $ 250 per person, Co-ed. Minimum 12 years of age.
Includes a certificate of proficiency.
Scuba
diving Safaris
Although
we can't offer the crystalline waters and colorful
corals of the Red Sea or the Caribbean, the diving
here is often superb. For certified divers, a single
tank boat dive costs $50. A two tank boat dive costs
$ 75. A 5 or 6 day PADI or NAUI certification course
costs $ 450. A 3 hour Resort or Refresher course costs
$ 65. 4 dive open-water referrals cost $ 185. Prices
include all gear, boats and a dive master. If you
bring your own equipment, the cost is substantially
less. Wet suits are available but rarely needed.
